After an initial unison statement of the theme, I set out contrasting the solo tenor trombone versus the solo bass trombone with the stereotypical approaches they tend to face in the classical, and most especially, the film music repertoire. But there is such a thing as a false dichotomy and as the piece develops, with comments from the left and right side of the trombone choir functioning much as a Greek chorus in drama, styles and usage of the trombone and bass trombone start to overlap and meld into a defining and majestic conclusion.
